Released in 1982, I Am Cold is the second studio album by Rip Rig + Panic — the Bristol-based avant-garde collective that fused post-punk, free jazz, and radical improvisation into one of the most distinctive sounds of the early 1980s. Featuring the extraordinary Neneh Cherry on vocals alongside Don Cherry's trumpet and a cast of adventurous musicians, the album pushes even further into experimental and avant-garde jazz territory than their debut, while retaining the anarchic energy and playful spirit that made the band so unique. An essential and rare piece of British avant-garde history.
