Description

Grandmaster Flash – Ba-Dop-Boom-Bang is an album by hip hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash, released in 1987 on Elektra (cat. no. 960 723-1). It was produced by Grandmaster Flash and Larry Smith, with Kidd Creole, Rahiem, Lavon and Mr. Broadway on the mic. The music combines electro-funk beats with rapping; "We Will Rock You" is built on the Queen song of the same name. It was recorded at Eastern Artists Recording Studios in East Orange, New Jersey. This copy is a 1987 UK & European original pressing with a cut-out mark on the sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. The album was released in 1987; this edition with catalogue number 960 723-1 is the contemporary original pressing for the UK and Europe.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
The record is graded NM-, the sleeve VG+. NM- (Near Mint minus) means close to new with at most minimal signs of use; VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of use that do not noticeably affect playback. CO stands for cut-out: the sleeve carries a mark (hole, cut or clipped corner) that retailers used to flag remainder stock. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Is "We Will Rock You" a Queen cover?
The track uses Queen's "We Will Rock You"; the record credits it to J. Saddler (Grandmaster Flash), while the 1987 CD edition names Brian May as writer.

Do you have more Grandmaster Flash records?
Yes, for example Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – The Message and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. More titles are in our Hip Hop collection.
