Originally released in 1968, The Book of Taliesyn is Deep Purple's second studio album, recorded during the band's early psychedelic rock phase before their transition to the heavier sound of the Mark II lineup. Featuring ambitious covers of "Kentucky Woman" and "River Deep - Mountain High" alongside original compositions, the album is a fascinating document of the band's formative years and a sought-after collector's piece for Deep Purple completists.
