The Music Revelation Ensemble was one of the most uncompromising and adventurous groups to emerge from the intersection of free jazz and the New York no wave scene — a collective built around the visionary guitar work of James Blood Ulmer and the powerful saxophone of David Murray. Released in 1980 on the German Moers Music label, No Wave is a raw, electric, and deeply original statement: free improvisation meeting rock energy and avant-garde intensity in a way that few records of the era matched. An essential document for collectors of free jazz, no wave, and the downtown New York scene.
