Released in 1970, Five Bridges is one of The Nice’s most ambitious works, blending rock with orchestral arrangements performed alongside the Sinfonia of London. Conceived by keyboardist Keith Emerson — shortly before he went on to form Emerson, Lake & Palmer — the album is a landmark of symphonic prog rock. The centrepiece is the five-movement “Five Bridges Suite”, a bold fusion of classical and rock that remains a touchstone of the genre.
