Os Afro Sambas is a landmark 1966 collaboration between guitarist Baden Powell and poet-lyricist Vinicius de Moraes, blending Brazilian samba with African rhythmic traditions into something entirely unique. Originally released in Brazil and here in a rare French original pressing on the Jag label, the album is widely regarded as one of the most important recordings in Brazilian music history. Standout tracks include "Canto de Ossanha" and "Berimbau," both of which became enduring classics of the genre.
