Blackouts is a landmark 1978 release by Ashra - the project of German guitarist and electronic pioneer Manuel Gottsching - issued on Virgin Records. Departing from the cosmic rock of his earlier work, Gottsching embraces a more minimal and ambient approach, layering hypnotic guitar loops and synthesizer textures into a meditative whole.
