Part of the celebrated "London Is The Place For Me" compilation series on Honest Jon's Records, this double LP focuses on Ambrose Adekoya Campbell - the Nigerian-born musician who became a central figure in London's post-war Caribbean and African music scene. Campbell's West African Rhythm Brothers were a fixture of the Soho jazz and club circuit in the late 1940s and 1950s, blending West African highlife, calypso and jazz into a uniquely cosmopolitan sound. An essential document of Black British music history, curated by the acclaimed Honest Jon's label.
