Description

Richie Cole – Alto Madness is an album by alto saxophonist Richie Cole on Muse Records (cat. no. MR 5155). It was recorded in December 1977 at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs with Rudy Van Gelder as engineer and released in 1978. Cole, a student of Phil Woods, plays spirited bebop here with Harold Mabern on piano and Vic Juris on guitar. His mentor Eddie Jefferson sings on two tracks, including Moody's Mood '78, a new version of the vocalese classic after James Moody. This copy is the 1978 US original pressing.
