The Beatles – The Beatles Collection is a box containing the Beatles' twelve UK studio albums in stereo plus the compilation "Rarities", spread over 14 LPs. The box was first released in November 1978 in the US and in December 1978 in the UK; in Germany EMI Electrola issued it under catalogue number 1C 198-53 163-176. "Rarities" was compiled specially for this box and collects singles, B-sides and variants missing from the albums. This copy is a 1987 German reissue (remastered) in the blue box.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The box was first released in 1978; the German edition with catalogue number 1C 198-53 163-176 was reissued several times during the 1980s. This copy is a 1987 reissue.

Is "Magical Mystery Tour" included?
No. The box contains the official UK album catalogue. "Magical Mystery Tour" was first issued as an LP only in the US and was therefore not part of it. The fourteenth LP is "Rarities".

What does Media NM / Cover VG+ mean?
NM (Near Mint) means the records are practically like new. "Please Please Me" and "Rarities" are graded VG+ (Very Good Plus), meaning light wear that is barely noticeable when playing. Sleeves and box also show light wear (VG+). All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
