"Golden Brown" is one of the most distinctive and beloved singles of the early 1980s, released by The Stranglers in late 1981. Built around a hypnotic harpsichord figure and a lilting 3/4 waltz rhythm, the track is a radical departure from the band's punk roots - an elegant, almost baroque pop song that reached number two in the UK and remains their signature recording. This European original pressing on Liberty features the characteristic yellow label.
