Donna Summer – On The Radio: Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2 (Vinyl 2LP | US | 1979)

Donna Summer – On The Radio: Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2 is Donna Summer's first major hits compilation on Casablanca (cat. no. NBLP-2-7191), released on October 15, 1979. It was produced by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, with Gary Klein producing "No More Tears". Most tracks were remixed or edited for the double LP and segue into each other on sides 1 to 3. New at the time were the title song "On The Radio", written for the film Foxes, and the Barbra Streisand duet "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)", which reached No. 1 on the US singles chart. The album also topped the US album chart and was Summer's last release on Casablanca. This copy is the 1979 US edition with inner sleeves.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. The compilation was released in the US in October 1979 on Casablanca as NBLP-2-7191, and that is the edition offered here.

What does "partially mixed" mean?
The tracks on sides 1 to 3 run into each other without gaps, much like a DJ set, and many were remixed or edited for this. Side 4, with the eleven-minute Streisand duet and the long version of "On The Radio", is not mixed through.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Donna Summer records?
Yes, for example Donna Summer – The Wanderer (US original 1980), the Dutch compilation Donna Summer – Greatest Hits or the single I Feel Love. More titles are in our Disco collection.
