Description
George Adams – Dannie Richmond – Hand To Hand is a joint album by tenor saxophonist George Adams and drummer Dannie Richmond, both long-time members of Charles Mingus's band. It was recorded on February 13 and 14, 1980 at Barigozzi Studio in Milan, produced by Giovanni Bonandrini, and released in 1980 on the Italian label Soul Note (cat. no. SN 1007). With Jimmy Knepper on trombone, Hugh Lawson on piano and Mike Richmond on bass, the result is muscular post bop with plenty of room for long solos. This copy is the 1980 Italian original pressing.
