Valentyne Suite (1969) is Colosseum's second album and widely regarded as their masterpiece - a bold, ambitious fusion of jazz, rock and classical influences anchored by Jon Hiseman's thunderous drumming, Dick Heckstall-Smith's saxophone and Dave Greenslade's keyboards. The centrepiece is the epic 17-minute title suite, one of the most daring compositional statements in British jazz-rock. This original German Vertigo Swirl pressing in a gatefold sleeve is among the most collectible pressings of one of the genre's defining albums.
