Description

Elvis Presley – Elvis Presley is Elvis Presley's debut album, released on March 23, 1956 on RCA Victor. It combines new recordings made at RCA's Nashville and New York studios in January 1956 with previously unreleased Sun recordings from Memphis in 1954 and 1955. The album spent ten weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, the first rock and roll album to top it. This copy is a German reissue on RCA with catalogue number LSP 1254; the pressing year is not stated.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The original was released in the US in 1956 as a mono LP (LPM 1254). This record is a later German reissue on RCA, number LSP 1254.

What does LSP in the catalogue number mean?
At RCA, LSP marks stereo editions and LPM mono editions. Since the 1954–1956 recordings exist only in mono, stereo versions of this album use electronically reprocessed stereo.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light wear on the sleeve. More on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Elvis Presley records?
Yes, from his early years for example Elvis Presley – Rock 'n' Roll (DE reissue 1972), Elvis Presley – For LP Fans Only and Elvis Presley – Good Rockin' Tonight (10"). More titles are in our Beat & Rock and Roll collection.
