Description

Os Mundi – Latin Mass is the debut album by Berlin band Os Mundi, released in 1970 on Metronome (cat. no. MLP 15.381). Formed in 1969 out of the Berlin beat and underground scene, the band set the Latin texts of the Catholic Mass to rock music, from the overture through Kyrie and Gloria to the Agnus Dei. According to the band, it was recorded in the small studio of their music publisher; a second album, 43 Minuten, produced by Conny Plank, followed on Brain in 1972. This copy is a 1970 German original pressing in stereo.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1970 German first edition on Metronome, cat. no. MLP 15.381. Later vinyl editions only appeared from 2011 onwards, some of them unofficial.

Is Latin Mass the only Os Mundi album?
No. Latin Mass is the debut. A second album, 43 Minuten, came out on Brain in 1972, and the archive release Sturmflut, with recordings from 1973 to 1975, followed in 2007.

What does Media VG / Cover VG+ mean?
VG (Very Good) means the record shows clear signs of play; here that is a visible scuff on side 1, with the rest at VG+. The sleeve is VG+ with light wear and a small cut-out hole, which was punched to mark remaindered stock. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Os Mundi records?
We have no other Os Mundi records in the shop right now. More German bands of the era are in our Krautrock collection.
