"I Wish" is the breakout debut single from Skee-Lo, released in 1995 on Scotti Bros. Records. Built around a laid-back, melodic groove and Skee-Lo's self-deprecating wit, the track became an unlikely smash hit, reaching the Top 10 in the US and UK and earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance. Its instantly recognizable hook — "I wish I was a little bit taller" — made it one of the most memorable pop rap anthems of the mid-90s and a staple of 90s nostalgia playlists to this day.
