FAQ

What is a maxi single?
A maxi single is a single in 12-inch format, the same size as an LP. It usually contains longer versions such as extended or club mixes, remixes and instrumentals. Because only a few tracks go on each side, the grooves are wider – giving more level and dynamics, which is why maxis are popular with DJs.

What speed do 12" maxis play at?
Many maxi singles play at 45 rpm, some at 33⅓ rpm. The speed is usually printed on the label or the sleeve.

How do you grade the condition?
Every used record is checked by hand and graded to the Goldmine standard, with vinyl (media) and sleeve (cover) graded separately. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Are the images photos of the actual record?
Yes. We scan every record ourselves – used and new. For used maxis you get exactly the copy shown.
