Description

Baden Powell & Vinicius De Moraës – Os Afro Sambas is an album by guitarist Baden Powell and poet Vinicius de Moraes, released in Brazil in 1966 on Forma. It was recorded in January 1966, produced by Roberto Quartin and Wadi Gebara Netto, with musical direction by César Guerra-Peixe. The eight songs they wrote together combine samba with Afro-Brazilian traditions from Bahia and Candomblé; besides Powell and de Moraes you hear the vocal group Quarteto Em Cy, a choir, horns and plenty of percussion. The best-known piece is "Canto De Ossanha". This copy is the 1966 French edition on Jag, licensed from Forma.
