Description

Bob Marley & The Wailers – Bob Marley And The Wailers is a Belgian reissue of the album the Wailers (Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Bunny Livingston) recorded with producer Leslie Kong in May 1970. It was first released in Jamaica in August 1971 on Beverley's as The Best Of The Wailers – despite the name not a compilation but a regular studio album. Kong died shortly after its release. The material was later issued under many titles, such as Soul Captives or Shakedown. This copy is the edition on the Belgian label Surprise (JTU AL 33); no year of release is given on the record.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album was first released in Jamaica in 1971 as The Best Of The Wailers on Beverley's. This record is an undated Belgian reissue on Surprise.

What does CO on the sleeve mean?
CO stands for cut-out: the sleeve has a small mark (clipped corner, hole or notch) that dealers used to flag remaindered stock. The record itself is not affected.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
Media (record): NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. Sleeve: VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Bob Marley records?
Yes, for example Bob Marley & The Wailers – Catch A Fire (IT original), Bob Marley & The Wailers – Catch A Fire (180g, 2015) and Bob Marley & The Wailers – Live! (with poster). More titles are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection.
