Description

Elvis Presley – Elvis' Christmas Album was first released in October 1957 on RCA Victor and spent four weeks at No. 1 on the US album chart. In 1970 RCA Camden issued a shorter ten-track version: the gospel songs were dropped and "If Every Day Was Like Christmas" (1966) and "Mama Liked The Roses" (1969) were added. This version is one of the best-selling Christmas albums in the US. In 1975 Pickwick took it over with a new dark blue cover with red ribbons. This copy is that 1975 US edition (cat. no. CAS-2428). Note on this copy: the label is marked "Mono", while the front cover says "Stereo".

FAQ

Is the record mono or stereo?
The label of this copy is marked "Mono", while the front cover says "Stereo". We describe the copy as it is. The 1957 recordings were originally made in mono.

Why are "Peace In The Valley" and the other gospel songs missing?
The Pickwick edition is based on the 1970 Camden ten-track version, which dropped the four gospel songs of the 1957 original and replaced them with two later Christmas recordings.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. For the sleeve, VG+ stands for light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Elvis Presley records?
Yes, for example a German edition of Elvis' Christmas Album with twelve tracks including gospel songs, the gospel album His Hand In Mine or How Great Thou Art. More titles are in our Beat & Rock ’n’ Roll collection.
