Description

Soft Machine – Seven is the seventh studio album by British jazz rock band Soft Machine. It was recorded in July 1973 at CBS Studios in London, produced by the band itself, and first released in October 1973 on CBS, in the US on Columbia. It is the first album with Roy Babbington, who had replaced Hugh Hopper on bass, and the band's last for CBS. Most pieces were written by Karl Jenkins and Mike Ratledge. This copy is a US reissue on Columbia (cat. no. PC 32716), still in the original shrink wrap with hype sticker.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The original was released in October 1973 in the UK on CBS and in the US on Columbia. This copy is a later US pressing with the PC prefix; the exact year is not stated on the record.

What does "in shrink with hype sticker" mean?
The sleeve is still in the original shrink wrap from the time of sale, with the label's promotional sticker (hype sticker) on the wrap. It protects the cover and is a plus for collectors.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Soft Machine records?
Yes, for example Soft Machine – Six, Soft Machine – Fourth and Soft Machine – Bundles. More titles are in our Jazz Rock collection.
