Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense (2x Vinyl LP | EU Reissue | 2024)

Talking Heads – Stop Making Sense is the live album to Jonathan Demme's concert film of the same name. It was recorded on 13–16 December 1983 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and first released on Sire in September 1984. The show opens with David Byrne alone with a guitar on "Psycho Killer" and grows song by song into a nine-piece band with Bernie Worrell, Alex Weir, Steve Scales, Ednah Holt and Lynn Mabry. For the 40th anniversary Rhino released the complete concert for the first time, newly remastered by Ted Jensen, including the previously unreleased "Cities" and "Big Business / I Zimbra". This copy is the limited 2024 EU deluxe 2LP reissue on Sire (R5 724897) on clear vinyl.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album was first released in 1984 as a single LP with a shortened selection. This double LP is the remastered 2024 deluxe reissue on clear vinyl with the complete concert.

What is different from the 1984 LP?
It contains all 18 titles of the show in concert order instead of the nine tracks of the original LP, plus a booklet with liner notes by Tina Weymouth, David Byrne, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison and previously unseen photos.

Is the record new?
Yes. The record is new and factory sealed, so it has not been opened or played.

Do you have more Talking Heads records?
Yes, for example Talking Heads – More Songs About Buildings And Food or Talking Heads – The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads. More titles are in our New Wave collection.
