Description
Tony MacAlpine – Edge Of Insanity is the debut album by US guitarist Tony MacAlpine, released in early 1986 on Shrapnel and in Europe on Roadrunner Records (cat. no. RR 9706). It was recorded in 1985 at Prairie Sun Recording Studios in Cotati, California, and produced by Shrapnel founder Mike Varney. The all-instrumental album combines neoclassical shred guitar with heavy metal; MacAlpine also plays keyboards and performs Chopin's Prelude No. 16 from Opus 28. He is backed by Billy Sheehan on bass and Steve Smith (Journey) on drums. This copy is the 1986 European original pressing.
