Description

ABBA – Voulez-Vous is the Swedish band's sixth studio album, released on 23 April 1979 in Scandinavia. Written and produced by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, it was recorded between March 1978 and March 1979, mostly at the newly opened Polar Studios in Stockholm; the backing track of the title song was played by the band Foxy at Criteria Studios in Miami. Engineer was Michael B. Tretow. The album spent a month at no. 1 in the UK and produced the singles "Chiquitita", "Does Your Mother Know", "Voulez-Vous" / "Angeleyes" and "I Have A Dream". This copy is the 1979 German stereo LP on Polydor (2344 136) with inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes, it is the original 1979 German edition on Polydor with catalogue number 2344 136. In Germany ABBA was released on Polydor at the time, in Sweden on Polar.

Why does the album sound so disco?
Andersson and Ulvaeus drew on the disco wave of the time; the title song was partly recorded in Miami with members of the band Foxy, which was unusual for ABBA.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of wear. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light signs of wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more ABBA records?
Yes, for example ABBA – Chiquitita (12" Maxi, German 1979), ABBA – Arrival or ABBA – Lay All Your Love On Me (12" Maxi). More titles are in our Pop Rock collection.
