Description

Augustus Pablo – Earth's Rightful Ruler is an album by melodica player and producer Augustus Pablo (Horace Swaby). It was recorded at Channel One and Harry J studios in Kingston, mixed at Harry J, and first released in 1982 on Pablo's Message label. The title refers to Haile Selassie I. Alongside instrumentals led by Pablo's melodica, Hugh Mundell sings, and the players include Robbie Shakespeare on bass and Earl “Chinna” Smith on guitar. This copy is the 1983 US pressing on Message (cat. no. 1005), distributed by Shanachie.

Who sings on the album?
Hugh Mundell, a young singer from Pablo's circle for whom Pablo also produced the album “Africa Must Be Free By 1983”. Pablo himself plays melodica and the keyboards.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
