Description

The Charles Lloyd Quartet – Dream Weaver is the first album by the quartet Charles Lloyd formed with Keith Jarrett, Cecil McBee and Jack DeJohnette, and Lloyd's first record for Atlantic (cat. no. 1459). It was recorded in New York in March 1966, produced by George Avakian and Arif Mardin, and released the same year. Next to originals such as the title piece and Sombrero Sam, Lloyd works the standard Autumn Leaves into his Autumn Sequence. The live album Forest Flower, which made the group known worldwide, followed shortly after. This copy is a 1966 US mono pressing.

FAQ

Is this an original pressing?
Yes, per our listing this is a 1966 US mono pressing with catalogue number 1459. The stereo edition carries the number SD 1459.

What is a cut-out hole?
US dealers marked remaindered stock with a small hole or cut in the sleeve. The record itself is not affected.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new; there is a tiny sticker on the label. VG (Very Good) means the sleeve shows more noticeable wear, here a cut-out hole and a tiny sticker tear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Charles Lloyd records?
Yes, for example Charles Lloyd Quartet – Montreux 82. From Keith Jarrett we have, among others, Fort Yawuh and Birth. More is in our Jazz collection.
