"Waiting For A Star To Fall" is the breakthrough hit by the American duo Boy Meets Girl, consisting of Shannon Rubicam and George Merrill — the same songwriting team behind Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody". Released in 1988, this dreamy synth-pop gem became a massive European hit, reaching the top 10 in multiple countries. Its lush production and irresistible melody made it one of the defining pop singles of the late '80s.
