Metallica – Metallica (Vinyl 2LP | EU Reissue | 2021)

Metallica – Metallica, usually called “The Black Album” after its almost black cover, is Metallica's fifth studio album, released on Elektra on August 12, 1991. It was produced by Bob Rock with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich and recorded at One on One Studios in Los Angeles from October 1990 to June 1991. Shorter, slower songs such as “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven” and the ballad “Nothing Else Matters”, with an orchestral arrangement by Michael Kamen, brought the band a mass audience; it is one of the best-selling albums in US chart history. This copy is the 2021 30th-anniversary remaster on 180g double vinyl with a download card, new and factory sealed.

FAQ

What does “New & factory sealed” mean?
The record is unplayed and still in the manufacturer’s original shrink wrap, so it carries no Goldmine grade.

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album came out in 1991. This double LP is the 2021 30th-anniversary remaster on Metallica's own label Blackened.

Why two LPs?
The album runs just over 62 minutes. Spreading it over four sides means less playing time per side and more room for the grooves, which benefits level and bass.

Do you have more Metallica records?
Yes, for example Metallica – ...And Justice For All (2LP, 2018), Metallica – Ride The Lightning (2016) and Metallica – Wherever I May Roam (12", 1992). More titles are in our Metal collection.
