Notes: –

Released in 1982, Glassworks was Philip Glass's deliberate attempt to reach a wider audience, and it succeeded brilliantly. Comprising six movements for chamber ensemble, the album distils his signature minimalist language into some of his most accessible and emotionally resonant music. The opening "Floe" and the intimate "Facades" remain among the most beloved pieces in the contemporary classical repertoire. An essential record for any serious collector.
