Description

Elvis Presley – A Date With Elvis is a compilation released by RCA Victor in July 1959, while Elvis was serving in the army in Germany. It collects previously issued recordings that had not been on an LP yet: five Sun sides from 1954/55 plus tracks from EPs of 1956 and 1957, including songs from "Jailhouse Rock" and "Love Me Tender". At just under 23 minutes it is very short; in the US it peaked at No. 32. This copy is a German reissue with cat. no. LSP 2011; the year of this pressing is not stated.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The original was released in the US in 1959 as LPM 2011 (mono). This copy is a later German reissue with the stereo number LSP 2011.

Which Sun recordings are included?
"Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Milkcow Blues Boogie", "Baby Let's Play House", "Good Rockin' Tonight" and "I Forgot To Remember To Forget" date from Elvis' time at Sun Records in Memphis (1954/55).

What does Media VG+ and better / Cover VG+ mean?
Media VG+ and better: at least VG+, meaning only light signs of use; parts of the record are in even better shape. Cover VG+: the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Elvis Presley records?
Yes, for example For LP Fans Only, Good Rockin' Tonight (10") and Rock 'n' Roll (DE 1972). More titles are in our Beat / Rock & Roll collection.
