Description

One Night With Blue Note, Volume 1 is the first part of the live recordings from the February 22, 1985 concert at Town Hall in New York. The evening marked Blue Note’s relaunch under Bruce Lundvall and brought musicians from the label’s classic years back on stage. This LP features Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, James Newton, Ron Carter and Tony Williams in changing line-ups; it was produced by Michael Cuscuna and Mike Berniker. This copy is the 1985 French original pressing (Blue Note BT 85113, DMM) with insert.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This French edition from 1985 came out in the same year as the US edition and was manufactured by Pathé Marconi.

What does DMM mean?
DMM stands for Direct Metal Mastering. The groove is cut directly into a copper disc instead of a lacquer, which removes one step in making the pressing stampers.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more records by these musicians?
Yes, for example Herbie Hancock – Takin’ Off, Joe Henderson – Mode For Joe and Bobby Hutcherson – Total Eclipse. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
