Philip Glass – Glassworks (Vinyl LP | EU Original | 1982)

Philip Glass – Glassworks is an album by American composer Philip Glass, released on CBS in 1982. With six self-contained pieces of five to eight minutes each, Glass set out to introduce his music to a wider audience; they are much shorter than his operas and large ensemble works. The scoring ranges from solo piano to horns, saxophones, synthesizers and strings; Michael Riesman conducted, Kurt Munkacsi and Glass produced, and it was recorded at Green Street Recording in New York. This copy is the 1982 European original pressing (cat. no. CBS 73640).

Instead of hours-long works, the album holds six short pieces, from the solo piano "Opening" to "Façades" with two soprano saxophones over strings.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the record shows light signs of play that barely affect listening, and the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
