Yellowman - Sings The Blues (Vinyl LP | US Original | 1988)

Yellowman – Sings The Blues is an album by Jamaican dancehall deejay Yellowman (Winston Foster), released in 1988 on Rohit Records (cat. no. RRTG 7701). It was recorded at Tuff Gong Recording Studio in Kingston with the Sagittarius Band and produced by B. Dixon, L. Sterling and Yellowman himself for Kangal Productions. Despite the title it is not a blues record: Yellowman sings well-known pop, R&B and country songs such as "Stand By Me", "The Gambler" and "Green Green Grass Of Home" in a reggae setting. This copy is the 1988 US original pressing.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. It is the 1988 first edition on Rohit Records with catalogue number RRTG 7701. Rohit was a US-based label; according to the sleeve the record was printed and manufactured in Canada.

Is this a blues album?
No. The title is tongue-in-cheek: Yellowman covers well-known pop, R&B and country songs as reggae versions, such as "Walking To New Orleans", "Stand By Me" and "Green Green Grass Of Home".

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
Media (record): NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. Sleeve: VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Yellowman records?
Yes, for example Yellowman – Operation Radication (Vinyl 10"). More titles are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection.
