Description

Eberhard Weber – Yellow Fields is the second ECM album by Stuttgart bassist Eberhard Weber, released in 1976 (cat. no. ECM 1066 ST). It was recorded in September 1975 at Tonstudio Bauer in Ludwigsburg, produced by Manfred Eicher with Martin Wieland as engineer. With Charlie Mariano, Rainer Brüninghaus and Jon Christensen, Weber assembles the line-up that soon became the group Colours. Weber wrote all four pieces, two of which run well over ten minutes. This copy is the 1976 German original pressing.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1976 German first edition on ECM, cat. no. ECM 1066 ST.

What are shenai and nagaswaram?
Both are Indian double-reed instruments, similar to an oboe. Charlie Mariano had studied them in India and uses them on "Yellow Fields" alongside the soprano saxophone.

What do Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means nearly new, with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of wear that barely affect the overall impression. Side 1 sits between NM- and VG+, side 2 is NM-; the cover shows some corner wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Are there more records by Eberhard Weber?
Yes, for example Eberhard Weber – The Colours Of Chloë, Eberhard Weber Colours – Silent Feet or Later That Evening. You will find more titles in our Jazz category.
