Compton's Most Wanted - Straight Checkn 'Em (180g Black Vinyl LP | EU Reissue | 2025)

Compton's Most Wanted – Straight Checkn 'Em is the second album by the Compton group fronted by MC Eiht. It was released on July 16, 1991 on Orpheus / Epic and produced by The Unknown DJ and DJ Slip. The single "Growin' Up In The Hood" featured in the film Boyz n the Hood and reached No. 1 on the Billboard rap chart; the album peaked at No. 92 on the Billboard 200. MC Eiht's storytelling over slow, funky samples from Isaac Hayes to the Isley Brothers shaped early-90s West Coast gangsta rap.
