"Because The Night" was co-written by Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen in 1978, originally offered to Smith after Springsteen left it unfinished during the Darkness on the Edge of Town sessions. Smith transformed it into one of the defining anthems of the New Wave era, reaching #13 in the US and #5 in the UK. This original German pressing on Arista/EMI Electrola is a landmark piece of rock history and a must-have for collectors of late-70s alternative and new wave.
