Originally released in 1999, Operation: Doomsday is the debut solo album of MF DOOM — the masked villain of Hip Hop, born Daniel Dumile — and one of the most revered records in underground rap history. Recorded in the aftermath of personal tragedy and released on his own Metal Face Records imprint, the album introduced DOOM’s labyrinthine rhyme schemes, comic book alter ego, and lo-fi, sample-heavy production to the world.
