Originally released in 1985, Dinosaur is the self-titled debut album by Dinosaur - the band that would later become Dinosaur Jr. Recorded before J Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Murph had fully developed their signature sound, the album is a raw and ferocious blast of hardcore-influenced indie rock. Tracks like "Forget the Swan" and "Cats in a Bowl" showcase the band's early intensity and the seeds of what would become one of the most influential alternative rock sounds of the late 80s and 90s.
