Description

Julie Driscoll – 1969 is the first solo album by British singer Julie Driscoll, who had made her name with Brian Auger & The Trinity. It was recorded in 1969 at Advision Studios in London, produced by Giorgio Gomelsky with Eddy Offord engineering, and released on Polydor in 1971. Driscoll wrote all eight songs; the arrangements are by pianist Keith Tippett, with musicians from the London jazz scene such as Elton Dean, Mark Charig, Nick Evans and Chris Spedding. FAQ

Does Brian Auger play on this?
No. "1969" was made without Brian Auger and The Trinity. Driscoll is backed by Keith Tippett and musicians from the British jazz and progressive scene; Tippett also wrote the arrangements.

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album first came out in 1971. This copy is a 1983 German reissue with the original catalogue number 2383 077.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
Record: NM- (Near Mint minus) means close to new, with at most minimal signs of use. Sleeve: VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of use that hardly affect playback or appearance. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Julie Driscoll records?
Yes, under her later name Julie Tippetts, for example Brian Auger & Julie Tippetts – Encore. More in our Progressive Rock collection.
