Description

Justin Hinds & The Dominoes – Jezebel is a roots reggae album by singer Justin Hinds and his vocal group The Dominoes, produced by Lawrence “Jack Ruby” Lindo and first released in 1976. The cover spells his name “Hines”. Hinds had made his name in the 1960s with ska and rocksteady hits, and his “Carry Go Bring Come” appears here in a new version. The backing musicians include Robbie Shakespeare, Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace, Earl “Chinna” Smith and Tyrone Downie. This copy is a US edition on Mango (cat. no. MLPS 9416) with nine tracks; the US version drops “Other Land” and runs in a different order from the UK edition on Island.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No, according to our listing it is a US reissue on Mango with the same catalogue number MLPS 9416 as the 1976 US first edition. The UK first edition came out on Island with ten tracks.

Is the song “Jezebel” on the record?
No. Despite the album title, this edition has no track called “Jezebel”. It holds the nine titles listed above, including “Carry Go Bring Come” and “Natty Take Over”.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG (Very Good) means the sleeve shows clear wear, here a name written inside the sleeve. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Justin Hinds records?
This is currently our only Justin Hinds & The Dominoes LP. More roots reggae titles are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection.
