Description

The Who – Tommy is the rock opera by British band The Who, released as a double LP in May 1969; in Germany on Polydor (cat. no. 184 216/17). Pete Townshend wrote most of the story of the "deaf, dumb and blind boy" who becomes a pinball champion and messiah figure, with John Entwistle and Keith Moon contributing individual songs. It was recorded from autumn 1968 to spring 1969 at IBC Studios in London and produced by Kit Lambert. Singles included "Pinball Wizard" and "I'm Free", and the work was later turned into a film (1975) and a stage musical. This copy is a 1969 German pressing in a trifold sleeve.
