Originally released in 1969 on Liberty Records, Phallus Dei is the debut studio album of Amon Düül II — the legendary Munich collective that helped define the Krautrock movement. A sprawling psychedelic odyssey anchored by its epic 20-minute title track, the album blends free-form improvisation, Eastern-influenced drones, and proto-metal riffing into something utterly unique. This 1980 German Strand reissue brought the album back into circulation for a new generation of listeners and remains a solid collector's copy of a Krautrock cornerstone.
