Description
Joe Henderson – The State Of The Tenor • Live At The Village Vanguard • Volume 1 is a live album by tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson on Blue Note (cat. no. BT-85123), released in 1986. It was recorded on November 14–16, 1985 at the Village Vanguard in New York, produced by Michael Cuscuna and Stanley Crouch. Henderson plays in a pianoless trio with Ron Carter on bass and Al Foster on drums, a format that leaves plenty of room for long solos. The programme features pieces by Sam Rivers, Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Ron Carter and Henderson himself. This copy is the 1986 US original pressing (DMM) with printed inner sleeve.

FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the 1986 US first edition on Blue Note, cat. no. BT-85123.
What does DMM mean?
DMM stands for Direct Metal Mastering. The groove is cut straight into a copper disc instead of a lacquer, which saves a step when making the stampers.
What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) for the record means close to new with at most minimal signs of use. VG+ (Very Good Plus) for the sleeve means light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
Do you have more Joe Henderson records?
Yes, for example Joe Henderson – Mode For Joe, Joe Henderson – Page One, Joe Henderson – Relaxin' At Camarillo. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
