"Enola Gay" is one of the most iconic singles of the synth-pop era, released by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark in 1980. Named after the aircraft that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, the track pairs a deceptively upbeat, melodic electronic arrangement with deeply serious subject matter - a contrast that made it one of the most memorable and thought-provoking pop records of its time. A UK Top 10 hit and an enduring classic of the genre.
