Description

Tony Scott / Shinichi Yuize / Hozan Yamamoto – Music For Zen Meditation (And Other Joys) is an album by American clarinettist Tony Scott with koto player Shinichi Yuize and shakuhachi player Hozan Yamamoto, recorded in Japan in February 1964 and first released on Verve (V6-8634); the stated year of release varies between 1964 and 1965. The nine mostly improvised pieces combine clarinet with traditional Japanese instruments and are regarded as an early example of meditative music between jazz and East Asian tradition. This copy is the 1980 German reissue on Verve (cat. no. 2304 138).
