Description

Yusef Lateef – Jazz 'Round The World is an album by multi-instrumentalist Yusef Lateef on Impulse! (cat. no. A-56). It was recorded on December 19 and 20, 1963 at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, produced by Bob Thiele, and first released in 1964. As the title suggests, Lateef takes up melodies from around the world – from Nigeria, India, Russia, England, the Yiddish tradition and Japan – playing them on oboe, bassoon, flute and shehnai as well as tenor saxophone. This copy is a German mono pressing in a gatefold sleeve.
