Description

Miles Davis – Amandla is the third and last album of Miles Davis's collaboration with Marcus Miller on Warner Bros. (cat. no. 925 873-1), released on May 18, 1989. It was recorded from December 1988 to early 1989 in several studios in New York and Los Angeles, produced by Tommy LiPuma, Marcus Miller and George Duke. Unlike Tutu it features members of Davis's touring band, including saxophonist Kenny Garrett, plus guests such as Joe Sample and Al Foster. The title is the Zulu and Xhosa word for "power", a rallying cry of the anti-apartheid movement; Davis created the cover art himself together with Jo Gelbard. This copy is the 1989 European original pressing with original inner sleeve.
