Description

John Coltrane – My Favorite Things is an album by saxophonist John Coltrane on Atlantic (cat. no. SD 1361 in stereo, 1361 in mono). It was recorded on October 21, 24 and 26, 1960 at Atlantic Studios in New York, produced by Nesuhi Ertegun with engineers Tom Dowd and Phil Iehle, and first released in March 1961. It is among Coltrane's first studio recordings with McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones. On side A he plays soprano saxophone, and the nearly 14-minute modal version of the title song from “The Sound of Music” became one of his best-known pieces. This copy is a US pressing of the stereo edition SD 1361.
