Joy Division - Substance (Vinyl 2LP | EU Reissue | 2015)

Joy Division – Substance is a compilation of Joy Division singles and non-album tracks, released on Factory Records (FACT 250) on 11 July 1988, where it reached No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart. It contains the four singles that never appeared on a studio album ("Transmission", "Komakino", "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and "Atmosphere"), most of their B-sides and tracks from the EP "An Ideal For Living" and the samplers "A Factory Sample" and "Earcom 2". Almost everything was produced by Martin Hannett. This copy is the remastered 2015 EU reissue as a 180g double LP, with the "Pennine Version" of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" added.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The original was released on Factory in 1988. This double LP is the remastered 2015 EU reissue on 180g vinyl, cut at Abbey Road Studios and pressed by Optimal Media.

What is the "Pennine Version"?
The "Pennine Version" is an early recording of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" that first appeared as a B-side of the single. It was missing from the 1988 LP; the 2015 edition includes it as the last track on side D.

Is the record new?
Yes. The record is new and factory sealed, so it has not been opened or played.

Do you have more Joy Division records?
Yes, for example Joy Division – Unknown Pleasures (180g, 2015) or Joy Division – Closer (EU reissue). More titles are in our Post-Punk collection.
